Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided during booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle pickup. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance options, and your obligations related to the rental. In cases where a discrepancy arises between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle with Us
- To hire a vehicle, drivers must be a minimum of 21 years old, although age restrictions may vary based on the vehicle type. Additional fees may apply for those under 25. A valid driving license appropriate for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of address. Payment information and a security deposit must also be provided. Additional conditions may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Dartford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All rates are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include applicable VAT. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment platforms.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be completed and both you and our representative will sign it. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, factoring in normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated, and applicable charges will be applied. The vehicle must also be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; failure to do so will result in refueling charges. Late returns may incur extra fees, and you should contact us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You are liable for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or charges incurred during the rental period, in addition to an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Policies
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance, with full coverage details and excess amounts outlined in your Rental Agreement. You may have options for additional insurance to lower your financial responsibility. Review these alternatives carefully. You remain liable for damages or losses up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls under your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise details, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges, which can affect the overall cost of your rental.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. Engaging in racing, rallying, or off-roading is prohibited, as is the transportation of hazardous materials. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding weight or passenger limits, or operating outside agreed geographical boundaries without prior consent is strictly forbidden.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the rental amount you paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for negligence resulting in death or personal injury, or for cases of fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms adhere to the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising will be resolved exclusively within the jurisdiction of the courts in England and Wales.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being published on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of any revised Terms.
